What My Kids Say

So I'm sitting in the bed surfing the net looking for decorating ideas when I realize Simon is staring at me. He then points at my stomach and asks,"Why is your stomach so big?" I gasped, mortified. He then whispers to Alvin, "I think mom is pregnant."

What? Kids are too honest for me.  Sure I can stand to lose about 15  lbs, but I hardly look PREGNANT. *sigh* I guess it's time to blow the dust off of my yoga mat and make use of that gym membership.

Also, I need to teach my chipmunk how to NEVER address a woman's weight in her presence if he has any plans of ever getting and staying married.

Nature Walks

Ever since my boys were babies, we've enjoyed taking a stroll around the block on nature walks.  Our neighborhood is lined with beautiful trees and the lack of traffic on our street makes the walks that more gratifying.

Theo plays hard!  I snapped a picture of his play shoes. Yikes!

Alvin went on a walk with his brothers the other day and picked up a gift for me.

What My Kids Say

I took Theo to see Rio yesterday for some quality mommy time.  I ordered a medium popcorn and a bottle of water for us to share.  As he munched on the popcorn, I sipped on Dasani and thought about throwing those annoying 3D glasses at the movie screen.

A few moments later, Theo asked for the water bottle. After realizing I've been drinking out of it he asked, "Where's my water bottle?"

"We're sharing this one."

"I don't know where your mouth has been." He frowned.

Sweet Spring

This is my favorite time of year! The weather is just right. The birds are chirping, the sun is shining ever so brightly, and my three sons (affectionately referred to as Alvin, Theodore, and Simon) are busy running, jumping and exploring.

After blending together a green smoothie (fresh spinach, mango, banana, ginger root, kale, and lime) we loaded up in the car and headed up the street to enjoy the warm weather at the lake.

Elijah (8) and Brandon (6) discovered a turtle in the water, while Jason (9) went on an adventure in the woods.

I allowed the sun to kiss my face and rested on a bench with my Kindle after racing Simon around the lake.

The simplest days make me the happiest.   :-)
